What are you good at?
What career field would you like to go into?
I'm not in the UK, but I think those two questions are pretty universal.

Dude! Look into hat the options offer and require... If you like doing practical things go for something that's more practical than written.
Also, choose ones that you enjoy doing already. That way, the coursework will get done with more ease.
Oh, and even if you really dig something, a horrid teacher will make it drag... So, look into which subjects have your favourite teachers in. BUT that's only if you can't decide.
Getting others to choose for you isn't exactly great... It's like doing something because all of your friends are.

Sorry if im late with this lol...
I'm in college and i found that its your A levels rather than your GCSE's that effect your job and UNI aplications.
Try to find out what A levels you'd like to do and take them at GCSE if you can. For instance, i'm doing A levels in ICT, English and RE so for my options I chose ICT and RE. Continuity can help on your CV and give you confidence in your subject areas.
If you don't know what degree you would like, pick things that you are interested in and are good at.

I agree with Iamvampire, Im doing my alevels too and all my GSCE's have been good for so far are getting me into 6th form. Just pick what you enjoy, dont pick anything that you hate just because you've been told you. I did that, I picked Geography because my parents said I should have instead of picking drama, it was the worst mistake and ended up with a grade of a D.
But then you dont always have to do something at GCSE to get into it at Alevel so just focus on what you like now because more than likly your ideas of fun will change.

Don't touch RE with a barge pole, unless you have a particular passion for that sort of thing.
