Being A Friend

What do you think being a "friend" entitles? What does it mean when "someone is your friend" to you?

A "friend" is someone that I can hang out with, talk to, and do fun things with.

A "real friend" is someone that would have my back in pretty much any situation, that I can tell anything to and that would never turn their back.

I have a lot of friends - I can count my real friends on one hand.

i have friends and i have good/close friends. this is the difference:

friends - these are people i can hang out with, have a good time with and talk about general things with. i generally wouldn't confide in friends or want/expect them to confide in me.

good/close friends - these are people who have earned my trust, that i respect and love lots. i could count on my fingers the people who fit in this category. these are special people because they take a serious interest in my life and will do anything to help me with any problem i might have and i'm always there to support them too whenever they have problems. i know i can trust them with private stuff and they know they can trust me with private stuff. those friendships are the imprtant ones to me.

as most of the above. friends are people we hang with have a laugh with and play a few pranks and a bit of banter and stuff.

then you have buddies where you share secrets and stuff like that

I think the defintion of 'friend' varies from person to person, and from relationship to relationship. Typically, I think it means it's someone 'close' to you, someone who has the distinction of not only not being anonymous but sharing some "thing" with you. Which of course varies, too.

What does being a friend mean to me. Interesting question.

A friend is someone who can make you feel better and make you smile even when the world seems to be crumbling around you but still knows when to give you that slap back into reality and let you know that you've screwed up. A friend is someone you can trust your secrets with and who trusts you with theirs. A friend is someone you don't have to worry about judging you and someone you can go to for advice. A friend is someone who wants to know you and wants to hear the stupid and nonsensical things you've done throughout the day and to tell you about theirs. A friend is someone you can laugh with, party with, cry with, live with, and die with. A friend is someone who has made an imprint on your heart; someone you are grateful to have in your life because they make these hellish years worth living. A friend is someone who makes you feel like it's ok to be you, because you are a good person who deserves a friend and deserves love. A friend is someone who helps make the world an ok place to be in because you're in it with them; you're not alone.

Never really thought about what defines the word friend to me.

A friend is somebody who you're completely comfortable around,
You can just let your hair down and say anything without being judged or having to worry.

Friends are people who genuinely like you and will help support you in your quest for happiness. They have good intentions and you can have a good time with them.

I don't think there is a difference between "good friends" and "regular friends". All of your friends should be good people who you can trust. Otherwise, they're not your friends.

Friends are people that you can tell anything to them. You can hang out with them, share things, and do fun things wtih. A best friend is a person who's got your back and you got their's. They never turn on you because you're strange or whatever.

gotta post this while i think about it. its a saying that i heard yesterday and its so true. "true friends are friends that have seen you at your worst and still loves you the same"
