I have a first gen iPod nano. (I'm getting a touch this christmas!!!)
but I have a prob with my nano, the battery life is kinda low. it's contantly plugged into my laptop charging. The batteries only last a few hours of normal use. any suggestions? plz, nothing obvious like turn down the brightness or use it less.

Battery lenght normaly depends on how well you charge it on your first few uses. If you didn't let you ipod charge fully the first few times, then you won't get as maximum length as you could otherwise. Basically, your just going to have to survive for 5 more days.

It's probably dying, in which case there's really nothing you can do about it (except sell it on eBay xD) You can't replace the battery, so you'll just have to endure 5 days of hardly any iPod :O

Well I still want to keep the nano for occasional use, or use at school so I wont care if somthing happens to it. But there isn't any place I could take it to to replace the battery? I broke apart my dad's 2nd gen ipod classic and could replace the battery, but the case was then damaged

The Nanos are really unreliable, I went through four in a year.

and then got a Zune.

See if someone can replace the battery or repair it, I guess.

I'm sure if you go to an Apple store near you then they would know what's the problem. Mine works fine and it's a 3rd gen. Got it this year. The battery lasts for a few days.

You can replace the batty on ipods (I'm not 100% sure on the nano). But I replaced the battery myself on my ipod video.

You'll just have to wait a couple of days.

Ya, you can't replace a battery on an iPod Touch because its welded in there.

Welded? Fuck me that's a little extreme

I think you mean soldered, and it's easy to melt the solder and replace :)

Every time you fully use and recharge your battery its called a charge cycle. every time u do a complete a chrge cycle you slightly decrease the battery's ions ability to sustain an electrical charge. In english that means every time u charge ur ipod u lose a small amount of battery life.Btw im typing this on
my ipod touch :). :)

One more thing, when you get ur ipod. Touch u can save alot of charge cycles by using it while its plugged in your computer.. It uses ur computers usb to power it instead of ur battery..

NO dont do that ever just carge it too 100% then unplug if you do that you WILL ruin the battery let it get below 5% before you charge it too that will give your battery a long life.
