You shouldn't really look straight to meds to help, and without knowing your unique situation it would be foolish(and quite possibly harmful) for me to tell you what to take.
Your best bet in beating any illness, be it physical or mental, is to talk to a professional about it.
Your local GP should be able to refer you to a sleep specialist( I don't remember the formal name, sorry) and you can take it from there. Just taking a random sleeping pill you can pick up from the pharmacy is, at the most, going to mask the symptoms of your problem, which may not even be insomnia. This means that you will get sleep, but you'll still be just as tired as before. I believe a lot of sleeping pills don't work on various sleep disorders anyway, so going to the doctor would be your best bet.

Well i have problems going to sleep. Like i always exhaust myself so i can fall asleep. Atm im on vacation. I've been on vacation for about 2 months. And my sleeping has gotten worse. Its even harder to sleep and i keep sleeping later and later and cant get myself to sleep. I can lay for like 2 hours or so til i fall asleep at time. But once im asleep im alright. And then i sleep sometimes for at least 10 hours and i wake up always feeling like its never enough.I just want to get bk to a normal sleeping schedule but i have problems falling asleep.

That's why i thought about maybe tranquilzers to calm the body and relax it so i can sleep. Or sleeping pills. But i guess like u said i'd have to go to a doctor.

thanks for your advise..and its like 5 am right now. and im leaving at like 7am. gonna have no sleep today

I agree with Callwaiting, you shopuldnt just go straight to medication for help, a specialist (I dont remember it either lol) is the best place to go.
But, since your on holiday Medication seems the only way to go. Ive never tried tranquilzers, though have heard they are a bit unpredictable, so a herbal thing would probably be best.

You should see a specialist

And you should atleast google something you've diagnosed yourself with.

I have something similar to that. Had to go to a sleep specialist to get it diagnosed.

What I have is called Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. Basically it's like my internal clock is 4-5hrs slow so I go to sleep and wake up naturally 4-5hrs later than everyone else. It kinda sounds like you have it, but you'd have to see a specialist to get it diagnosed.

When I was diagnosed she told me to wake up at 7AM everyday no matter what, and every two days go to sleep 30min earlier until I get to where I want to be.

You have to know what the problem/cause is in order to fix it. Numerous disorders can involve insomnia so leave the idea of meds and go to a GP, sleep specialist, neurologist, etc... and get properly diagnosed then go about and take the meds.
