How did you diagnose tonsillitis?

If you have a sore throat and and fever, it might be Strep, which requires antibiotic treatment. Likewise, if you've got a fever, sometimes you get weird dreams.

Tell your folks, let them see what's wrong and make a decision about what to do or who to call.

Trouble sleeping is probably because you're uncomfortable.

Eat some honey once in a while. It really does help your throat + tonsils if they're sore. Go to a doctor :)

I would advise you to see a doctor about your suspected tonsilitis.

It is quite easy to tell if you have it or not. Get someone else to check to see if there is any pus on them. If there is then you should go to the doctor because you'll need antibiotics (penicillin is the standard for treating tonsilitis).

If it isn't tonsilitis, there are a number of possibilities as to what it could be. Seeing a doctor in the absence of pus on your tonsils is a good idea.

As far as the dreams go, it could be completely unconnected to your sore throat. I have never heard of this sort of symptom for something like tonsilitis and doubt there is a connection beyond you being uncomfortable while you drift off to sleep.
