Well I'll give you some background info at first. My dad and I haven't always had the best relationship, I loved him but I also feared him. I think it was mainly because I was introduced to a belt more often than I should have. Another thing is that sometimes when he got a bit pissed at me he would lock me out the house for a couple hours or until I learned my lesson. Also my earliest memory is of him beating my mom. Those aren't really to bad when I think about what other kids have went through. So lets get to this weekend.

My dad gave me about $30 so I could pay for some stuff for school, I lost the money and I started freaking out and I felt like I was a kid again. Also my brother was laying down right at the spot I thought my money was and he refused to get up. My breath got shorter and I felt like i couldn't breathe, I was extremely scared and felt like crying, I felt dizzy and light headed, I just sat down on the floor somewhere where no one could see me and when I tried to get up I couldn't and really didn't want to. I've never did that before so it really scared me. So my question is: What the hell happened to me?

Also I ended up finding the money.

A nervous breakdown? It happens. Sometimes you just need to be alone for a bit.

I go into rampages every once in a while. It's really freaky when I snap out of it....

Hey Y'all. I've missed you.

Anyway, yes, it sounds like a sorta panic attack (not full blown, but pretty panicky). We humans have loooong memories, and eventhough you're a grown up you still remember all that abuse you witnessed and endured. As well as your feelings about it. In a similiar situation, you're reminded of the emotions, and feel them with the same intensity as you originally did.

With time, they pass. Quicker with therapy, of course. At least it's all past tense, huh?

That scares the shit out of me. I didn't think that I would start having panic attacks.

What scared you were the repressed memories of all that old stuff. Clean it out and the panic goes with it!

I have panic attacks about that stuff all the time, my father used to throw chairs at me and my sibling.
I have repressed too many memories form those days, they come back in painful flashbacks.
