Ahh, I know how you feel.
We just starting learning how to write an essay, with the topic sentence, how to list things off, wording, etc. We've only had 2 classes on it.
And now, the teacher is going to make us write a science essay, social essay, english essay, and since we're learning French, she's making us write a French essay as well. T_T
ALL in one day. And its next week. She's so mean, I wish she taught us it more...

Essay writing is a skill that you will be glad you had.
It was... seventh grade when I was first taught about essays. She was a marvelous teacher. Every friday we had to write a 5 paragraph essay in 15 minutes. What started as insane became regular. This is how you become one of the greater writers in your highschool in the following years.
Your teacher is not mean, she has no benefit, none, in giving you work to do besides the fact that it better prepares you for the future. Do you think she sits at home, rocking in her chair facing the corner, manically laughing over all of the homework she assigned? If she does, well, you let me know.

You'd almost think she'd do it. O_O
Well, I know it's something I have to learn to do, but thats not the point.
I mean, 2 CLASSES! You think 1 hour is gonna make a bunch of 13 year olds smarter and instantly know how to write an essay?
She's so blunt about it, and plus, we haven't even wrote a practice essay!
We have the real-deal essays Monday, and if we don't pass with at least a good 80%, she'll fail us.
And if I fail and my parents find out, I'm as good as dead!!!!

Maybe your teacher does suck, and just realized that she needs to give you some practice before she makes you write an essay that is required by the school system. An essay is a method for expressing your thoughts, and arguing a point. Know that, and you will know success.

Yeah, you're right.
It took a while to click in, but that really is the basics of an essay. :O
Thanks for making it simpler.
Unlike my teach, everything is some scientific equation or something. -.-

In the earlier years, even up into the middle of high school, you are going to have teachers tell you that an essay MUST be 5 paragraphs, it MUST have an "attention-getter" and it MUST have a conclusion sentence that restates the attention getter.
Don't get me wrong, these are ... techniques that have been used in the past, but they are obsolete in contrast to how a real writer tackles a problem.
I have fought my teachers on these issues, there is little you can do. Try to be as expressive as possible when adhering to their "laws of writing". When you get into high school I urge you to take AP classes, especially AP Literature. This is the class where the real rules are learned.
