Seriously pissing me off now. My right eye has been twitching for at least a week now, maybe two... It's not absolutely constant but it's still at least 10 minutes every hour...
Two questions for you wonderful, know-it-all guys:
#1 - What causes twitches?
#2 - How can I get it to stop?
I'm going crazy because it makes it hard for me to read in lessons and some of my friends and teachers think I'm winking at them... :/

There are various causes of eye twitching in its serious and not so serious formats. The more common causes for eye twitching include:
Corneal irritation or injury
Stress
Lack of sleep
Fatigue
Prolonged staring or eye strain
Neurological disorders
Possibly Hereditary
Basically, get some sleep, get off the computer, to prevent eye strain, rest your eyes, and just get a lot of rest, but if it continues, I WOULD call a doctor and ask. Not necessarily go in and schedule a formal appointment but it would help to talk to an adult about it and see their input.
After I typed all that ^^ I found this
Signs that a doctor visit could me necessary.
Twitches that cause your eyelids to completely close
Experience redness, swelling, or discharge from the eye
Experience sensitivity to light or vision is blurred
Twitching extends from the eye to other parts of the face
Twitches are uncomfortable or painful
Twitches increase in frequency and intensity
Twitches do not disappear within a 7 day week
Twitches are accompanied by a fever

Hmm. I can't remember exactly when it started but I remember moaning about it at school about a week ago  I don't think it's any more or less than when it started but the patterns are just soooo random!
Thanks, Addi. :)

The above highlight is why mine start doing that.
Other than being BEYOND annoying, it's pretty harmless.
Just.. get some sleep(!!) and try to de-stress

My uncle has a weird twitch in one eye. He just winks randomly. Doesn't even flinch or anything.
Weird thing is, it didn't happen all throughout high school. It just showed up and never went away.
Hope you don't have that :S

There are two major things that have to do with twitching:
1. Stress/anxiety
2. Sodium
Have you been getting enough salt? Are you getting muscle cramps, or just twitching? If cramps, it is a sodium issue. Otherwise, try to figure out what is stressing you out.

Well, the twitch has stopped [possibly temporarily]... I think the mass of weekend sleep definitely helps.
I've just got to try and figure out how to keep it away during school. Which is the most stressful part of my week and is also when I get the least sleep...
But a massive thanks to all f you for helping me :D

I've found the more I think about the twitch I have when I ams tressed, the more it happens. For me it is in my thighs and eyes.
