I really like smart girls; it wouldn't matter how good looking a girl was if she was really stupid... I just can't stand that. If for some reason I met a girl that was LITERALLY a super-genius and SHE wanted to go out with me too... then of course I'd do it! I wouldn't feel inferior or anything.

For me I HAVE to find a girlfriend that is at least on equal terms with me in terms of intelligence. That doesn't mean book smarts (as much as I am that kind of person) but just someone you can carry on an actually intelligent conversation with is something I would need.

i agree with cobalt...same with me...im what you would call..."super smart"...and evry1 (by evry1 i mean guys) make fun of me for it the girls know that its an attractive trait..........i hate stupid people.....not like mental people...like people who act stupid on purpose to get attention......and i love smart girls..thats one of the first traits i look for in a mate and you wouldnt catch me with one of those petty little girls who dont know what their own hand looks like b/c they stare at boys non-stop....dont get me wrong...i love it when girls look at me but when they dont even know the capitol of the u.s. then there tooooooo dumb

@The OP: Basically in the same boat as Nick (Cobalt) here, but I wouldn't really mind if they were smarter than me. Though 'smarter' is a very broad term. I would most likely know a lot more about meteorology than the very very very vast majority of kids. So, even if they were 'smarter' than me on the whole, I'd probably be smarter than them in areas such meteorology, random computery things, plus any other things that I had just happened to learn.

And this isn't something you can really look at a report card over all and say "This person is smarter". Different schools, different teachers, lots of things play a factor in things like this. When I was in a public school, I had the highest marks out of everyone in the school, by far, but that wasn't necessarily because I was smart, it was because everyone else was (to put it bluntly) dumb.

The point of all this is, you should never look at someone's 'smartness'. If a guy wouldn't go out with someone just because they were smarter than themselves, then they have problems, and they wouldn't be someone you'd want to go out with anyway.

In conclusion, there really isn't such a thing as being 'smarter' than someone else. It's really all dependant on how much you've learned, where you've learned it from, etc. So yes, I would definitely go out with a girl who was 'smarter' than me. I love intelligent conversation.

Not to be too picky or anything, but I don't know that I would want to date a girl with a superior intellect. I would much prefer to date someone as smart as me or someone who's a little bit "dumber". I don't really want to date anyone that falls on the either far side of the spectrum (i.e. I wouldn't want to date someone that comes across as really dumb/ignorant but I wouldn't want to date the female equivalent of Albert Einstein either). Maybe a girl who was a little bit smarter than me would be okay, but most of the girls I've crushed on haven't been quite as bright as me, at least not grade wise... And talking to some of them, its apparent they're definitely not on the same level as me intelligence wise... But that's only some of them... I do know some girls who are quite smart (possibly smarter than me) that I also like at least a little bit, so I don't really know. I'm not sure intelligence would be that important to me in a relationship, other than that I would ALMOST never date a super genius or someone really, REALLY dumb.

actually i like smart girls. all girlfriends i have had/have were smart in their own way. their smartness doesn't bother me too much. whats important to me is that we have a connection and that at the time of dating i really like them. so to answer the question, yes i would date a smart girl.

Now that I think of it, my last girlfriend was smarter than me in school sort of...

I'm a sophomore, and she was a junior. We both had Chemistry and Adv. Algebra, but she had a college class or two since she was old enough. She tried harder, but she also knew a lot more than I did.

She didn't figure stuff out quite so quick though..... She did catch up on our dirty jokes after a wihle though. Just suggestive themes I guess.

The answer, of course, is yes I would (and do!). Who would want to go out with someone LESS than themselves? It's much more enjoyable to go out with someone truly interesting than to double down to protect a fragile ego.

I'm not too bright myself; don't get me wrong, I'm not too dumb or overly ignorant, I just didn't really try at all during my first ten years in the wonderful British education system, and obviously, it kind of affected my smarts in certain aspects. I do, however, really like intelligent girls; and not just the book smart ones either. If she was socially/emotionally intelligent that's just as good in my opinion, if not better than simply being a genius. For example, some people can be smart as hell intellectually, but dumb as fuck when it comes to people, or the opposite, like myself the majority of the time. So basically, yes; I most definitely would.

IMO; Nerds are awesome, especially female nerds.
