I'm not old enough atm, but for the future i was wondering what the rate of people that get prescribed medical marijuana for generalized anxiety disorder and what the whole procedure is.

personally i smoke pot for casual and medical purposes,
to be honest it works better than any anxiety medication i've tried, and treats my insomnia as a result of my anxiety better than tranquilizers my doctor gave me.

EXTREMELY low, pretty much impossible. As marijuana use is actually a cause of anxiety disorders no doctor will prescribe it. It's only prescribed for physical pain anyway.
Though unlikely it's possible to get psychologically addicted to cannabis, even more so if you're using it to replace a prescribed medication. You should try new medication if the old stuff isn't working properly, but marijuana can make an existing condition much worse.

Actually most of the time anxiety pills are more addictive. And they're more expensive.

Unfortunately, too much THC will slow your brain. All of the other chemicals will slow you down physically, but it is very slow and not severe.

I smoke it too. I haven't in a little over a month now though. Don't really feel the need to.

It helps with DSPS too :) In a way it's similar to insomnia.

Overall, pot works better and is cheaper but has more adverse side affects. (Ignoring the very real chance that the anti-anxiety pills kill you.)

Um, no. Most anxiety and anti depressants are very low risk for addiction.

Marijuana is almost none.

My uncle smoked it pretty heavy for about 3.5 - 4 years. He got caught and hasn't smoked it for about 2 years now. He had slight headaches every once in a while for a week or two but he was fine. Cool guy.

My aunt (not his wife) use to take anxiety pills. She was a teacher and the kids plain made her anxious. When she lost her job she stopped taking them and got all kinds of shit. Her anxiety came back, obviously, but it was MUCH worse. She was tweaking a lot to. Just freaking out, with worry, about the most harmless stuff. "No one will trip on the remote, Jenny, it's okay on the floor."

anti depressents can be kind of addictive ,not physically, but can be extremely difficult to get off.

When you're routinely using any drug(or for that matter any activity such as cutting) to cope with everyday life it's not uncommon to become dependant. I'm not talking about a physical addiction, I mean a psychological dependency, which can be SO much harder to break.

Um, no. Anti-depressants take weeks to build up in your system and if you miss just one dosage, its no biggy. But getting off them is very easy. I've done it multiple times. Yeah, people have negative effects, but its not addictive.

Back on topic.
