When i was about 12 i'd say, i was masturbating and didnt know what i was doing - and obv did it too hard, i ripped the bit of skin between the forskin and head -
i havn't noticed any problems with it, except for the first few days when it hurt - and now has completley healed, but what is it for really, does it matter?

If it's all healed and you notice no problems, there may be no need to see a doctor.
However, if it affects anything in anyway/is largely noticeable you should consult your GP.

You mean that little piece of skin connecting the head of your penis and the foreskin of your penis? That's the frenulum. It is a really sensitive part of the male body. Some circumcised guys don't have one.
The physiological use for it, is to make retracting and unretracting the foreskin easier.
It's easy to rip if you masturbate too hard or have to rough of sex. But if you're very careful and it doesn't get infected, it will be fine.
