alright, this probably isnt in the right place, so sorry in advance...

im just the typical 15 year old guy that would like to gain some muscle mass. im 6' 1" and 170 lbs. id like to start something with working out and getting back into shape. im not "fat" but just a little more chub than id like if you know what i mean.

does anyone have any tips on staying away from that junk food and getting back on regular exercise? ive been working out with my schools football program (and played last year), and thats not helping me much... any ideas?

thanks!

First thing to being healthier is a healthier diet. This includes going with your adults to the grocery store, and staying away from purchasing the junk food. If you don't buy it, you can't get fat off of it. lol. Make sure you eat proper proportions to.

A good thing to help stop snacking between meals is whenever you get a craving or you feel a big hungry, drink a hug glass of water. it should hold you over till the next meal.

Then, if you want muscle definition, you'll want to do things like anaerobic excercise and toning excercises. Like sit-ups, pull ups, push ups, weight lifting. Yeah, weightlifting will do wonders to build muscles.

Now, if you want to lose weight and lose fat, then you will want more cardio, intense excercise. This is like, running, biking, playing a sport, usually prolonged periods of hard excercise that gets you sweating and gets your heart pumping. Running is a great way and cost's nothing. lol.

If you do the second option (lose fat) you will want to make sure you will consume a lot of water so you dont get dehydrated because you will sweat doing those activities.

Don't eat anything after 7pm...trust me.It doesn't make a difference what time you eat but what does is what you eat.

Well its usually a bad idea to eat past midnight. Because when you go to sleep, your metabolism appearently slows. Which is what I've been told. And if your metabolism slows, more is made into fat or something. Idk

Well if you eat a double cheeseburger before bed then yeah... but if you eat an apple or say celery at 9pm its not going to kill you.

I was really fat a few years ago, but I started to eat fruit before bed, play basketball everyday (my favourite sport), I started goin for more bike rides (just half hour on a bike makes me sweat so much), and work on the weights and do as many push ups as i could before bed and in the morning (this gets you goin for a crap day). I cut out the junk food.

I have salad or veg with every meal I have, but I have too much, this is because I had 2 bros living with me then they left home, now it's hard to cut back on the portions.

Well this is mostly up to your determination on how much you want to achieve.
First of let's start with your diet. Try to minimize intakes of sweets, and sugary confections. Also don't eat out or eat foods that are high in fat. If you may like, which I'm no fully advising. You may eat a good healthy breakfast and lunch, and just eat a small dinner or not at all.
Now, we talked about what to eat. Now let's talk about HOW to eat. Now you may be wondering, why does how I eat affect my weight. Well eating too quickly isn't benefitial for you. It's better to chew your food down so once your stomach starts to dissolve those foods. Left overs from big chunks will not remain in the crevices of your stomach.

Now we talked about food, let's talk about getting active. Note that the following may not be the workout for you. Find a work out that you can follow and fit your needs.

Let's start off with some of that belly fat and other mild body fat. It's best to approach it by doing some cardio work and burn that fat off. Here's a list of what you can do as cardio:

-Dance
-Running
-Treadmill
-Gymnastics
-ETC

Those are only some of the things you can do.

You should stick with that until you feel that it's a good amount of fat you've lost. NOTE overworking your body and losing too much fat is not healthy to your body also. This can cause many problems to your body later on.
Also drink a good amount of water through the course of your Weight loss.

NOTE: Results will not show until 2-3 week after. So don't worry if you don't see any changes after the fist week.
