A boy has collapsed in a fit of convulsions after a 24-hour session on the computer game World of Warcraft.

The 15-year-old boy was playing the game with six of his friends at a house in western Sweden when he collapsed in front of the computer.

The apparent epileptic fit was blamed on a combination of factors — little sleep, lack of food and a prolonged period of intense concentration while playing on his computer, the Times of London reports.

The boy's father was quoted as saying he would now limit the amount of time his son spent on computer games.

The boy and his friends gathered at his house on Saturday to play a new version of the Warcraft series, titled 'Wrath of the Lich King'. The boy collapsed around 2pm the following day.

"They played all day and all night," the father said. "Maybe they got a few hours of sleep."

"They ate a little food and breakfast at their computers."

The release of the new version of Warcraft, a multi-player fantasy role-playing game, has prompted warnings from some psychologists about the dangers of addiction to online games.

I thought I was addicted to video games..but I actually just play runescape. You know what they say....anything too much is bad for us. THanks for posting Stephen. I think our global moderator is saying to us to make sure we eat and get plenty of sleep...and video game is okay if played in moderation. You cool Stephen!

Ha ha ha. Its not funny that he freaked out, its just funny how people can get so enveloped in games.

Note: When planning on intense video game playing, make sure to get up and get your own food and drink so you actually can get up and excercise just a smidge, (nothing too bad obviously) and take breaks sometimes. This is just extreme.

Well that just shows the bad side to games like World of Warcraft. It's funny that the idiot chose to do that....but at the same time it's a little depressing..did he have nothing else to do?

NO! I was going to post that video Kodie >.>

"I don't mean to speak ill of a 15 year old boy but I'm just saying, if you get taken out by a video game, you're a bitch." xD I was laughing so hard when I watched it.

Yeah that's pretty sad if he can't play a game for a whole day. I played CSS (Counter Strike Source) for like 3 days straight (it was during summer vacation) with some mountain dew and pizza and nothing happened to me. Course that was when I actually used to play games...a lot...everyday...all day. But seriously, who collapses after playing a game for a little more than half a way? Maybe if its like Wii Fit or something but you'd probably just get tired of standing in 1 spot for 15 hours.

Makes me a bit concerned for my roommates...
They've both started playing War-Crack.

I've never played,
Nor do I ever intend to.

My friend Tim played up until this last summer.
2.5 years of game play...
30+ pound weight gain,
And a dead social life.
And when he sold his account,
All he got was like... $700,
For almost 3 years of his life.
Wasted.
He regrets sitting on his arse all of that time.

I hope people will wake up and realize that playing that much IS NOT healthy.
