I don't think it's fair to date a friend who's interested in you unless you're sure you share their feelings, regardless of the situation. If she wasn't your best friend then I might say you should go ahead with it until you know one way or the other how you feel even though that would be risking her feelings, but since she's already your best friend that means your friendship would be at stake as well. It would simply be too much of a risk.

I think the best thing you can do would be to explain to her that you don't know how you feel and you don't want to risk the friendship by pursuing that sort of relationship with her if you're not sure; a best friend should understand that, even if she doesn't like it.
