View Full Version : Scenario: You See Your Worst Enemy Get Shot By Your Best Friend

Scenario: You see your worst enemy, someone who has picked on you everyday of your life, someone who has always come across as an asshole, someone who is the epitome of Satan in your eyes, get shot to death by your closest, dearest (best) friend. The police have no idea that your friend did it. They have very little evidence, but of the little proof they do have they have proof that you were there, so they have you as their number one (and only) suspect.
What would you do? Would you lie to cover up for your friend and say somebody else did it? Would you stay silent and risk being charged for the crime and then hope that they don't have enough evidence to wrongly convict you? Would you rat out your friend? Keep in mind this is your worst enemy. If this was a random person or even somebody you knew and/or admired, you would PROBABLY react differently. So knowing yourself, what would you do?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me personally, I wouldn't lie (I just can't lie under circumstances like this), but I just wouldn't indicate my friend. I would just stay silent and let them prosecute me if they so decide to go through with it. I would hopefully be found not guilty and move on with my life. Hopefully they would never figure out my friend did it, but never wrongly convict anyone either. It would probably be on my mind for the rest of my life, haunting me, but I'd deal with it, knowing that my worst enemy is dead, and my best friend is alive and free. :/ It would be tough regardless.

I would give my friend a few days to see if he'll confess to it, because if he lets me go to jail for something he did then he's not to much of a friend anyway and I would have no problem telling the police he did it.

^^ Thomas, you wouldn't have the opportunity to give him a few days, you would already be in an interrogation room, almost directly after the fact (maybe a few days after the murder itself), and you would have been unaware you were their number one suspect until they brought you in. You would have to talk to them then and there, there would be no leaving to see what your friend thinks and coming back.

How? I merely didn't go into enough detail in my first post, I added the detail in that second post. That's the scenario, okay?

I'm not going to lie.
As much as I love my best friend,
I'm going to cover my own ass,
Which did nothing wrong,
Over their's who did do something wrong.
I don't care who they killed.
Murder is serious business.
You can get a life sentence,
Or the death penalty.
I'm not going to suffer or die for their wrong-doing.
They do the crime, they do the time/punishment.

I agree with Steph. I really have nothing to add to that.

I also agree with Steph. Murder is murder, no matter how you look at it. I would just tell the truth.

My dad had a friend (keep in mind this was way back), who is now dead, who murdered a drug dealer, and the cops interviewed my dad about it (mind you, he wasn't a suspect), and he said he knew nothing of it, and his friend never got arrested, and a really evil drug dealer (this guy was known to be a murderer, a rapist, etc. aside from just dealing drugs) was dead.
If this guy was truly my worst enemy, and was truly just an evil person, I have to admit, I would cover for my best friend. I would assume if they went so far as to find ME guilty in court, my BEST FRIEND would step forward and admit he was the real killer. Though there is a real question of are you willing to wait that long to find out how true your best friend is to you?

Problem is,
My best friend would say the same thing I just said XD
So the feeling is mutual.

I would tell the complete and full truth, because for one i cant lie, and two if your friend didnt come clean then they aren't a true friend letting YOU get in trouble for THEIR crime

If my best friend killed my mortal enemy then he's not my friend anymore for two very simple reasons
A) the fucker stole my kill
B) He obivously did a sloppy job

I'd tell them that my second-worst enemy did it, then pay someone in prison to kill them too. Muhahaha!
But honestly, I wouldn't tell anyone unless I was going to be sent to jail myself.

I would tell my friend to come forward, and if he didnt I would dobb him in.
I'm not getting caught for murder... even if it was my worst enemy.
