Were you embarrassed when you started growing facial hair?

My younger brother today came to me asking for me to buy him a shaver, and I said why not ask dad? He said because he is embarrassed to ask.

I told him there is nothing embarrassing about growing from a boy into a man, and he should feel proud.

I was never embarrassed about growing facial hair, in fact I thought it was pretty cool.

Is it normal for a guy to be embarrassed about it?

Well its normal for guys to be embarrassed to talk about puberty with their parents so asking for a shaver would be kind of awkward to some. Try telling him to just buy himself one when he's out shopping for food.

I can't legally either, but I look like I'm 18 lol (when I wait a few days without shaving).

I stared shaving at 14 every week or so now I have to shave every other day and it really sucks.

I think that you should either buy it for your brother since you look older or you could talk to your dad for your brother.

Yeah, it is totally normal for a guy to be embarrased. I am still kinda reluctant to shave it off because, yea.
But try to understand why he would be nervous and help him through it like you would like someone to help you through something. Hes your little brother, be nice :D

I think it is embarrising, that is why when I start to grow a few hairs, I shave them off before they start to grow..

well my parents are always screaming about leg hair..god knows what would happen with armpit hair.

anyways, since my parents are like that i would be embarrassed to ask them, so i just use my dads razor, but i just need to do one quick swipe every month or so as of right now.

I just see growing facial hair as something to be proud about, not embarrassed about. It's just another sign you're no longer a boy type thing.
