What negative image could a computer game character bring to a product?
If a violent or sexual game/character is linked to a product, then simple-minded people (especially media reporters) are sure to feel that the product is either meant for a violent or sexual person or that the product, itself, is intended for violent or sexual activities. This includes other game or character themes as well. Intellects will not link a theme to a product simple because of the way it is marketed, however, they may lose interest in learning more about the product because of the gamer-targeted marketing.
Specifically, what negative image could Lara Croft bring to an advertising campaign?
For those that do not know (or do not have a strong opinion about) Laura Croft, the only negative image that she could bring is that the product is meant for violent or sexual people or that the product is intended for violent or sexual activities. For those that either like or dislike Laura Croft, they are sure to have similar feelings toward the product out of sheer bias.
