I downloaded Windows 7 the other day, so tonight I burnt it to a DVD and installed it to my secondary hard drive that didn't have hardly anything on it.
First impressions are good, it's very quick.

Yes I know my hard disk score is bad, drive is starting to make some bad clicking noises under load :( Now hard drive just ordered though :)
Anyone else got this installed yet? I'm going to use it as my main O/S for now.

Where do you get a copy of that? My dad might want to mess around with it.

A search of the usual places will find out it pretty quickly.

Trust you Andy to be one of the first to get it.
From screenies it just looks like Vista all except a massive step in changing the way the op system works.
What do you think of it Andy cause I'm right in thinking you hated vista (correct) whats the main differences.

Well it looks the same because it's using a vista theme, but it is a completely new kernel.. it seems pretty quick and it's not even crashed yet. There's a few bugs but for a pre-beta release it's hardly suprising really! It's going to be better than Vista, that's for sure.

Well, it's been rougly 7 days I've been using this. I must say I quite like it, I've had no problems with it at all :)
It's fast, reliable and better designed than Vista. I just hope to god Microsoft invent something decent for us multi-monitor users in the way of a taskbar for the 2nd monitor, I'm still having to use a 3rd party app to give me a 2nd taskbar, witch uses the Vista taskbar, rather then a the clever new one!

are you talking about Vista? I don't personaly like it. But i have server 2008 on a computer, it is like Vista server, and the GUI isn't soo flashy like vista. It beats vista.

Windows Vista was designed for those that are computer illiterate in mind

No, we're talking about Windows 7. The version of Windows that isn't even out yet. (Correct me if I'm wrong guys, I kinda don't feel like looking this up. :p ) Windows 7 is supposed to come out in late '09-'10.
