Abuse in school

Hello, my name is Kimber and I am new here. When I was 12 my mom sent me to stay at a religious school for troubled teens, I was abused for the 16 months I was there and even now it has a dramatic effect on my life. I have been in counseling since I was released from that place it helps but I would like to talk to others who can relate to my situation.

Thats terrible that they abused you at such a young age.

Thank you, I will try to describe a little more of my life each day as much as I can handle talking about. To begin my step dad who was a psychologist convinced my mom that I was this bad kid and that I needed discipline. It started off by him spanking me with a wooden paddle, this become a daily thing for any little thing I did. After almost a year of this I started fighting him back and refusing to just let him do it to me. Then he convinced my mom to put me in this school. I can not say the name of this place due to a legal suit that was settled out of court by my mom after she left my step dad. I can give you a hint to its name though "Mountain Park" if you wish to google it, there is a survivors group on the net that tells about it. I will try to describe this place first of all it was miles from anything and there was wild dogs everywhere we were told if we tried to escape they would eat us alive.
We shared a room with 3 other girls. We didn't learn much in regards to reading or math or etc, most of the time we were in church. The same spanking that started with my step dad continued here but it was much worse.
If we fought back we were taken to a room and scraped face down to a medical table. I was left strapped to this table overnight many times. A leather belt hung on a wall and any employee could simply walk in and whip us and no one would ever question anything. Most of the time a pillow was placed to the side of our head so we couldn't see who come in the room or what they were doing. This was one of the things that scared me the most. I would hear the door open and know someone was standing a few inches from me but I had no idea what they were doing. Many times they would do nothing just stand there for what seemed like 15 minutes or so then leave.

This is as much as I feel like talking about at this time, thanks to all who read this and comment back. I will try to answer all questions as well.

That's terrible. You could probably call the cops to inspect the school, and they'd shut it down. It reminds me of the book Holes

It was shut down 2 years after I got out of there but I heard it has reopened in another state.

I looked up the whole Mountain Park thing. How horrible and cruel. It said its purpose was to "seperate teens from the ungodly". I am so sorry for what happened to you and I hope things get better each day.
