We all know Vista uses RAM aggressively, yet it complains when you have 30% free. Here's how to disable it from monitoring your RAM usage.

1. Open registry editor by clicking start then typing "regedit" and hit enter.

2. Browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WDI\DiagnosticModules\

3. Take ownership of the folder "{5EE64AFB-398D-4edb-AF71-3B830219ABF7}]" by right clicking on it and clicking permissions. Then click the advanced button and change owner to your username. Click OK then give full control to your user group then hit OK again.

4. After you have ownership, delete the folder.

5. Repeat 2-4 except this time delete "{45DE1EA9-10BC-4f96-9B21-4B6B83DBF476}]"

6. Reboot and enjoy.

I'd advise before doing this that you make a back-up of your registery. After you;ve opened 'regedit' (Registery Editor), go to File, and then select Export, choose a place to save it and a name for it and click on Save. You will then have a back-up if anything goes wrong.

But if you get this warning I think it's about time you get some more RAM, I've never had this problem when running Vista on 1GB or RAM, and you shouldn't be running Vista on anything less than 1GB really.

I have 2GB but I have no pagefile for performance reasons. That's why it complains.

Cool, but as Andy said, be safe and have a backup ;)
