Does anyone here know what an empath is, and does anyone here believe they are an empath?

BTW this is good for this forum because being an empath can lead to some mental illnesses if not harnessed and controlled correctly.

Every healthy human has a degree of empathy.
The only ones who don't are psychopaths.

noo, i mean like enhanced empathy... like being able to read others alot more than other humans can. like an enhanced or alot stronger empathetic feeling inside of specific people, not necessarily in all people.

I find it hard to believe that there is such seperation of those with above average empathy levels and those who have average levels of empathy.

Thank you for giving me a link that shows a distinction between those with average levels of empathy and those with below average levels of empathy. I had talked about this distinction.

As I said before, I find it hard to believe that a distinction exists between above average levels of empathy and average empathy levels.

This is wired, buuuuut..
I used to not be able to read people at all. But it has been a few weeks since I'm on new meds, and now I feel in tune with life, and it makes me happy. I look at people when they are talking now. :)

Funny that, I have no empathy whatsoever. No idea why. ah well.

OP I don't see how you can be able to "read" Somebody's feelings at such a level,
