Sick and Twisted?

Well, I cut myself and absolutely love the way it looks. and most people dont...my friend thinks i am wierd for loving the way it looks. Am I sick and twisted?

That depends. According to most of contemporary society: yes, you are sick and twisted. According to me: no.

Personally, I love the way my hand looks when it's covered in blood. I wish I could get that look more often but sometimes I fail when I try to cut myself - it sucks.

Tell me, what kind of feelings do you get when you see your cuts? What exactly do you feel?

for me they remind me that this has saved me from killing myself

why do you like the way they look?

I actually dont know, I guess it's that blood is deep and true, if you know what I mean, (hope that doesnt sound too hippie-ish.) and what I feel when I cut is just a blackout feeling, like nothing is around me but darkness.

I would not say that you are sick or twisted. Your way of viewing this isn't beneficial, that's for sure.
I like watching the blood and it has made the task of stopping a lot harder.

To me i get this weird calmness around me.. and watching the blood makes it harder to stop. you know when your like "just one little cut" and then end up doing like 4.
And do you mean the scars or actually doing it? im confusedd

No, not at all :)
In fact, I kind of like the way burns and scars look too, I'm not entirely sure why.

I'm forever being told I'm disturbed, twisted, derranged, mental etc (lol don't worry, I'm a nice person really :)).
Who gives a f**k about what others think :S

I'm not a blood fan, but different people, different points of view, right?
In order to gain an understanding of others, you have to put yourself in their shoes.
And I respect people who think differently from me, cuz I know they aren't me so they're not going to think the same way as me either. So no, you are not sick and twisted. :) Just don't put yourself in harms way.

no your not. i love the feeling and sight of blood, i dont often see it as i mainly use blunter objects but still.

You're not sick at all. I look at my cuts and I'm proud of them- like it makes me a better person, if that makes sense. I feel like they make me beautiful in the sort of soulful way...

no, i dont think your sick and twisted.. i love the way it looks too, its like a release when it comes out! i sometimes take a picture of it and look at it when i feel the need to cut to try prevent my self from doin it, abit weird but yeah, it helps lol

I read somewhere it's common for self harmers to form their self identity around the fact that they cut/burn/pick or whatever and learn to love the way it looks. They explain it like it's sick and twisted but in my mind, it's like an alcoholic liking alcohol...you love it and hate it at the same time because it gives you relief but can destroy your life.

I used to like the way my cuts looked when they were half healed and if that's sick by societies standards, then so be it.
