Are there any reasons that a teenager would be having notably degradeing eyesight over 6 months?

Having poor eyesight is so common now. Watching lots of TV, too much time on the computer etc all contributes to bad eyesight. But most modern things do something bad in some way.
If it's troubling you, go to an optician. In the UK you get free eye tests if your under 16, or 18 I can't remember, but I'm not sure about america. Sorry.

Seeing an optician is the best option here really. You may need glasses...wait do you wear glasses now?

Then you should see an optician. Your glasses may be crap, or you have an infection somewhere. I don't know. It's best to see him/her.

Especially if you already wear glasses, worsening eyesight is fairly common. You may need to make a change in the prescription of your lenses. One of my friends ends up with a slightly different prescription every time she sees her optometrist, so it's totally possible to see a change over a time period of 6 months or so.

If you take any medications, you should also check the list of side-effects for blurred vision. If it's a possibility, see your doctor to see how you might confirm/rule that out as a possible cause. I might recommend having someone else look at the side-effects though. Once you know what they are, you get them all--the power of suggestion!
