2nd gen Ipod touch

I would really like to get a new ipod touch. (preferably the 2nd gen) I have an old 8gb but I am quickly running out of memory and constasntly have to delete apps and such. What can I do with my old one so I dont have two?

Sell it... or, do what I do... that is, use your old one when you go to places that there is a chance of you losing it, or having it stolen.
Like, I take my good iPod Classic to school, and out wherever I go... but if I go out bike riding or something where I might lose it, I take my old iPod.
This way it wont matter too much if I lose it.
