On saturday I was singing singstar (karaoke with points you get if you sing in the right key at the right time and such but that's not important..) and I had to cough and then my voice got all strange and broken and it's gone on like this for three days now.. It come and gone (not the voice but the cracking) and i'm just wondering if this is a part of puberty or if it's just temporarily. My dad says that i'm in that part of puberty. Is there a good word for that thing that's happening to me?

2 questions:

Have I entered that part of puberty and what is it called?

You're dad would be correct.
It sounds like its just because of puberty.
Just give it some time and your voice should be as good as new.

I highly doubt puberty would cause you to loose your voice, but the fact that you were singing may of helped the processes along.

Normally your voice goes higher or lower for about a second and this is quite ok. It's quite strange for a complete loss of voice though so if it hasnt gone in a day or so i'd go to the doctor :-)

well you have entered a part of puberty, and you already know what it's called, you named the title after it.

and it is a part of puberty, and its only temporary, until your larynx can determine where your best pitch is to.

so, your voice is cracking. my voice started doing that one morning in late december of '07.
