Testicular cancer bumps are only found on the actual testicle, and bumps on the outside of your scrotum generally are due to some dermatological condition which can be caused by a variety of infections. Bumps on the scrotum are not the same thing as testicular cancer.

I concur. :P
Testicular cancer's usually shown by a lump or bump on the actual testicle within the scrotum. However, outside the scrotum it can be a variety of STDs and other conditions. So that is why they advise that you do periodical 'checks' for testicular cancer because most guys don't notice abnormalities such as small lumps on the testicles often or don't think anything of it. However, if it is on the outside then there is a problem also you need to take some action about it.

Based upon your description you seem to have a dermatological issue, and it does not seem you have cancer at all. As mentioned by the post above, the bump has to be on the actual testicle for you to be concerned. You cannot have testicular cancer if the actual testicle is fine.

As for the bump you have, if you are not sexually active, then you might have a pimple and nothing more. Just keep the area clean, and the pimple should go away on its own. Clearly, if the bump is getting bigger or giving off pus, then you need to seek medical attention soon.

If you are sexually active, then have a STD test as a precaution. You can never be too safe when it comes to STDs.

Finally, if you want to have reassurance for your problem, then you can always make a trip down to your school nurse's office, and you can at least get a preliminary opinion from him/her and advice on what to do from there.

well i looked at a dermatologist site and it sounds like its just a cisk...that really takes a load off my mind...next time i go to the doctor i will mention in.

just to give more detail... like i said its like whitish red bump and when you like squeeze it you can feel a little ball like skin deposit in the scrotum.

so hopefully thats all it is.

EDIT: No i am not sexually active.

well, first off i's spelt cist (sorry, but i hate bad spelling)

and it sounds like:

A. you may have a pimple on your scrotum(normal)

or

B. it is a hair follicle that the stuff inside has come out and it has irritated the skin and made it red, like a pimple(not as normal)

and any lumps in your scrotum that feels like a sack of worms(especially after you get out of the shower) is called a varicles (i have no clue now to spell it.), and all it is, is enlarged veins in your scrotum, 10% of the population has them. its normal as well.

what the heck is tax blubber?

White/yellow stuff comes out then blood? It's a pimple. That sounds just like any other pimple. You can get pimples anywhere! on your dick, near your pubes, on your balls, on your ass, on your chest, on your back, on your face, in your nose, inside your ears, etc

It's not cancer O_o

My guess is that what you did is the equivalent of popping a zit and nothing more. The stuff that came out was simply the contaminents that had built up under the skin. My view is that you should use some Neosporin or its generic equivalent on the area to make the wound heal. I would not recommend lancing bumps like this in the future, and you should either let it go away on its own or have it evaluated by a health care provider. It is super important that you keep the area clean so that you don't get an infection there. Your username makes me think that you might be an athlete, and if that is the case, then be careful in your showers and locker room as those are places where contaminents can be spread. Also, if you wear a jock strap, then make sure that it is sterilized and clean.

In short, you will be fine as long as you treat the wound like any cut. Clearly, if things do not get better, then you should seek medical attention from a school nurse or a doctor.

Actually i've been told by my doctor that you should remove puss from spots before you get washed and then imidiatly wash the area and your hands to stop them spreading. This ensures that the infection is removed as the puss is actually your white blood cells that have fought the bacteria in the spot.

I would suggest that you do remove any puss by squeezing the spot (DO NOT scratch it as this can lead to scarring). Make sure you wash with a mild soap after the puss has been removed and it should go away by itself.
