How much do you sleep every night, what meals and how much do you eat daily, and how much exercise do you get? All of those can affect school performance significantly.

Can you pay attention for any length of time? If yes, you don't have ADD.
One of the most popular nootropics (smart drugs) is piracetam. It is completely legal and has proved its effectiveness on many people.
Mods: Not a prescription.

ADD doesn't just happen, you cannot catch it like a cold. Typically, it's always been there, difficulties with attention and concentration have been present 'forever', you're really born with it, and the symptoms become apparent as the expectations become greater. So, if your performance has deteriorated recently, you might look to other causes here. Even 'inattention' can be caused by many things, ADD being only one of them. Think about your performance, try to honestly determine why it's slipping. Are you putting the required amount of time into it? Are you as motivated as you should be? A lack of either will cause the grades to drop, and are not always indicative of ADHD!
'True' ADHD testing is a rather involved process, and only psychologists or neuropsychologists are appropriately trained to administer and interpret the many tests required to accurately diagnose ADHD. Hopefully, your mom is having you evaluated by one of those specialists, otherwise, the results won't necessarily be accurate.

I can't say that I have experience, but the post above this one is right that it is a lengthy process to figure out whether or not you have this disorder. You have nothing to loose to see if you have a genuine problems concentrating in school and staying focused. However, if your situation is the result of your just not doing the work and an old fashioned issue of not willing to work hard, then save your Mum's money by acknowledging your faults before undergoing a lot of tests which I am going to assume will cost some money out of pocket. Of course, if you have an issue you should be diagnosed and treated, but be honest about any things you might be doing wrong, too, so that your health care providers will have all the facts.
