Raindrops serenade on the walls like a melody
Silent screams go unanswered because I am locked in here
If you could see me, would you let me out?
Or would you run the other way like everyone before you?
I'm not going to ask you to care about me.
I'm just asking you to stop tearing me down
i can't stand the rain
October 30, 2008
I love the radiance in your smile
The warmth in your eyes
I know you won't be here for long
I don't know if I can handle you going away
I can't stand the rain.
I'm supposed to be strong for you
I can stand tall
And you can't stand at all.
I'm not supposed to have these thoughts
Do we really have to face this right now?
Either way, we will someday.
Maybe it isn't so bad.
I can't stand the rain.
It's pouring down around us
Dime-sized drops beat on our backs
ANd the colors of the world are washed away.
The end is soon and I don't know what to do.
I can't stand the rain.
The sun came through the clouds today.
You lay here, and I cannot be with you.
I need to have you as I had you before.
I understand that you had to go
You don't hurt anymore
And it's for the best.
As the sun fades once more
It begins to fall again
I can't stand the rain.
~
The first one was one I wrote just a few minutes ago, and I'm not sure what I'm trying to let out through it. The second one is from a dream I had, and it symbolizes death. I don't think that either one makes sense, but as I usually throw my writings away, I thought I'd post them somewhere.
