Ok, so I learnt all about all this condom stuff and things like abstinence in health class. But I don't actually own any condoms. As is asked everywhere else on this forum, is this normal? I kinda suspect that it isn't, and also, I'm worried that I'll be at some wort of party or something and my friends and something will happen and I'll wish I had a condom on me. I certainly don't want to have sex or anything right now (and maybe I'll wish I had the condom for a friend or something), but I'm really worried that sort of during the spur of the moment something will happen and if I don't have a condom things might go wrong. Is this worry of mine at all valid? I know it might seem crazy, but I seriously have kept myself awake at night on occasion worrying about this and related stuff.
Thanks for your help.

Well I'm 16 and I've never bought a condom before. Mainly because if I'm going to have sex for the first time, I want it to be planned, not some one night stand. It's definately not wird or anything to not carry them. People who are more sexually active and going out to pubs and clubs in the evenings will most probably have condoms as they're expectiing and most likely to have sex if they want it.

Actually that's pretty far from weird, as your being responsible by wanting to buy condoms in the first place, but if your going to have sex for the first time, it shouldn't be with like the "drunk girl" at some party, it should be with someone that you care about.

Ah, the utter failure of 'abstinence' sex ed! it doesn't really prepare you for reality, b/c it doesn't give you the info you need about yourelf and the way your body and mind work to adequately prepare! Thanks for the confirm.
Listen, being prepared means wanting sex at your age. It's a mental thing, not an availability thing. If you've given this some thought, oi you have an awareness of what you like and need (rather than what might be merely available), then having a condom on you or not is really irrelevant. Conversely, making those condoms available doesn't necessarily lead to increased sexual activity (studies show this. They also show that 'abstinence only' states alo have much higher incidence of teen pregnancy).
Remember, it's the brain that's the biggest sexual organ, and the determinant of what you'll do. What you've got in your wallet or back pocket is largely irrelevant if you understand yourself and your values.

Always good to have a condom to hand when you need it, that said if you are not looking for it then there's no point as the longer you have a johnnie in your pocket the more likely it will fail on you (body heat is bad for the rubber) not that I am saying that it going to fail on you just because you had it in your pocket but if you have it in your wallet and ram that in your trou day after day, week after week it will eventully start to affect it.

well its a little not normal to just go out and buy condoms for no reason. you should have a reason for buing them, like you know you and your gf will be having sex for example, or because your masturbating with them. i have never owned or bought a condom in my life, because i don't need them, and as rok.my.sox has said:(im sorry, but his first name has slipped my mind)
Mainly because if I'm going to have sex for the first time, I want it to be planned, not some one night stand.
but it is normal to carry a condom in your wallet, as rok.my.sox has pointed out:
It's definately not wird or anything to not carry them. People who are more sexually active and going out to pubs and clubs in the evenings will most probably have condoms as they're expectiing and most likely to have sex if they want it.
