Cadidiasis, otherwise known as Yeast infection and thrush, is a fungal infection that can effect mainly women in certain areas, and if not treated, it can be fatal.
Most, however are minor treatable sideffects, (such as redness, itching and discomfort).
It is an infection of the skin and can occur in:
the oral cavity (oral thrush)
the pharynx
the esophagus
the navel
the intestines
the urinary bladder
the vagina
Candidiasis is a very common cause of vaginal irritation, or vaginitis, and can also occur on the male genitals.

(A+ for Joe's response, the server tells me I have to wait before giving you more Rep so a shout out will have to do).
I see you're a guy, so I'll assume this q pertains to you. maybe you mean 'fungal infection'? That's what guys need to worry about.
Fungals grow in warm, damp environs, like between your toes and (as I suspoect you're asking) under the foreskin, and in the area behind the scrotum. You'll know if you've got one, they burn and itch, get bright red, and give off a characteristic pungent smell. Left untreated, the skin begins to lift off.
The issue with fungals is that once you get them (and esp. if left untreated), the skin's ability to resist them in the future is markedly impaired, making you far more susceptible to reinfection. So, if yiu've got one, it's important to treat it ASAP, with OTC anti fungal creams available in the drug store.

yes, it's true, men can get yeast infections too. and not just thrush, the oral yeast infection that is common in men with HIV. men can get penile yeast infections, and although i've never had one myself, i hear it's not pleasant. not only that, but heterosexual couples who have unprotected sex can pass yeast infections back and forth endlessly, so it seems like it might be a good idea to learn more about male yeast infections and get your penis cleaned up if there's reason to suspect he has a yeast infection of his own
