Highschool Sweethearts

I keep hearing from a lot of people how me and my girlfriend have one of those relationships where it could last past highschool and even possibly end up in marriage. Our year anniversary is coming up in about 2 months and the idea of being with one person for so long kind of scares me. Not enough to break up with her but to scare me a bit. I've never cheated and never planned on it. I can see staying with her for a long time but it just kinda hit me that I'm in a good relationship for once that has the ability to last.

I love her fully and truly, but I'm getting nervous and scared. It hit me last night at homecoming and while we were sitting around with friends the 2 other girls we were with were saying to each other how natural we are around each other. I'm nervous plain and simple and don't want to mess it up because of it.

It sounds like you need to go back to concentrating on one day at a time. Marriage is always scary when you're not ready for it, but unless she's ready for it then there's absolutely no reason to even be thinking about it. If she's still with you when you're ready for it, so be it, but there's a million and a half things that could happen between now an then. But for right now things sound like they're going really well, so you should focus on that and not worry about the "what ifs".

Gently, tell her how you feel and I'm sure she'll understand. Don't worry about the future, worry about now. Anything that might happen can wait. You don't have to do anything you don't want to, remember. You'll know what's right for you when you get older.
