I know I don't know any of you all that well, as I just joined, so I'm sorry to ask for help so soon. XD; I'm a little freaked out, though. :d

I went a little deeper than normal, somewhere between "minor" and "severe" as this site defines. It has been healing pretty well, but when I went to redo the bandages tonight, one end of it was a dark blue-gray color. It wasn't oozing pus or anything, and the temperature seemed normal. It was a little more tender than the other end, however.

I couldn't find anything online about it, so I thought I would ask this site if any of you had run into this before..?

I just do not want to go to the doctor, because that would mean I'd need to tell my parents. :/

Thank you.

Edit: It was also sort of healed over and "glassy", if that makes sense.

Well, if you are truly worried, its important to get it checked out. I understand that you don't want your parents to know. But, if it saves your limb, its worth it. And then you can't get infected if you don't cut.

If you want to talk, feel free to PM me.

The primary symptoms of infection are pain, redness, swelling, and heat. It doesn't sound infected since the only one of these you mentioned was pain, but it could very well be in the beginning stages of infection. It's probably safe to keep an eye on it for awhile; if it isn't infected it will get better and if it is infected then it will get worse. The strange color may simply be a stage of the healing process, similar to a bruise. If it starts to get worse or it stops improving, then it's time to see the doctor regardless of whether or not you want your parents to know.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. : )

It looks a little better today, though, so I don't think I need to worry anymore.
