I am 18, 5'4, 108 pounds, 11 1/2 shoe size, and male. All the males on both sides of my family GENERATIONS back are at least 5'10 and on the heavy side. I have been 5'4 since I was 13-14. At 14 I was 50th on the boys growth chart...which can be found here : http://www.kidsgrowth.com/stages/viewgrowthcharts.cfm?id=BH318

Now I am in the 3rd percentile. I still look like i'm 13-14 aswell. If you look at one of my pictures in the 8th-9th grade and compare them to now...You will not be able to tell any difference whatsoever. I haven't changed.

I think I have almost finished puberty...I have some of the signs of finishing...and completely lack some. Ex, shoulders widening, matured face...(never hit that growth spurt at 14-18).

I'm beginning to think something is wrong, and I want to find out before its too late.

I don't think that anything is 'wrong' persay.
Since you said that some parts of you haven't developed yet. The growth spurt for example, probably means that you haven't finished puberty yet.
On average puberty is found to stop around your early twenties. And your 18.
So there's plenty of time to go yet, so don't panic, i'm sure things will catch up with the rest of you. Don't worry about some things not developing as that doesn't happen as far as I know.

And to be honest, IF, i say IF something was wrong which it probably isn't, you couldn't really do much about it anyway. Oh, and the growth spurt things is very irratic in puberty, it goes and stops, then happens again a while later, you get periods where you shoot up, and other times you sort of...slow down.

So don't worry your fine.

don't panic. puberty ends in the early 20's.

you have lots of time to grow. or maybe your going to be 5'4'' until you die. (i could go on forever with genetics, but i wont) Your likely a late bloomer, but since growth during puberty is stop and go, its hard to tell you how tall you will be.

Is it normal to stop developing for 4 years straight now? I mean, I dislike my height, I'll admit it. But I hate how young I look even more. I mean I still look 13-14.

:(

Iso advice.

Minigunz, please refrain from double posting.

To the OP, you may feel "low" on the chart but that is just an estimation. You may have a huge growth spurt in a month where you will grow almost a foot in a few months. Just make sure you are remaining healthy and you will be fine. If you don't see change by the age of 17, see a doctor :D

You know, there are lots of factors that determine height, eventhough everyone is a certain height, there are other genes in there from the *other* side of the family. And depending on the luck of the draw, you could be either (for your family) dominant (tall) or recessive (short).

Eventhough puberty continues until your in your twenties, growth happens sooner. It happens thru the release of growth hormone, which stimulates the growth plates at the end of your bones to grow. Once those close, regardless of age, no further growth is possible.

If you're concerned about this, you should see an endocrinologist, who can determine if growth is still possible, and also see if you're a candidate for treatment with human growth hormone.

Yeah I've already went to my family doctor. He did blood work and said everything seemed fine. He didn't do a HgH deficiency test which I think is stupid...
