ok, so at my middle school, EVERYONE would eat you alive if they found out you were gay, I mean it, they would pick on, crack jokes, and say the worst things ever, so heres my point, how many boys are happy with being gay and letting the school know it? tbh I have no problem with gay people, I'm sort of sexually curious anyways, so has anyone ever let people know your gay?

Well guys are often more relunctant to say they are gay or bi because they often get ripped on more then gay or bi girls. So im open in saying im bi because mainly people dont care. If you know anyone that is gay openly at your school you can get some background advice.
One of the main things is that goes on is that if someone makes an insult you say one back. Like if they say "cock-sucker" then i say "So you call your girlfriend that or does she not love enough?" It leaves a crash a burn. But before you go doing what i do u should just think .If youre not ready in going open dont. Many wait till college where hardly no one cares a bit

I came out last winter and I was a wrestler and the rest of the team treated me like shit and would not hang out with me any more basically I have no real friends since I cam out that I was bi.

So my advice to you is don't come out until you are out of high school.

That's true.
People on here are more likely to be accepting, but the real world is a much crueler place. It depends entirely on the area that you are in.
But I expect in every area of the world, you will definatly get some stick for being gay. It would be worse and better in some area's so, as others have said, unless you really don't care what others think, come out after high school/secondary school. Then people will be a bit more mature towards you.

I think the acceptance of one's sexuality by the community at large has everything to do with where the community is located. In your specific case you appear to be living on a Military Base, and the Military is probably one of the least gay friendly places out there. As a result, anything connected with homosexuality is going to be mocked in your immediate environment, and coming out as being gay on a military facility, even if you are not a soldier, is ill advised. My point is that your experience being in a Military area is going to be skewed against homosexuals even though there is nothing wrong with being gay and the fact that there are quite a few homosexuals in the military who are serving quietly.

My view is that places like large metropolitan areas that are fairly cosmopolitan are definitely going to be much more accepting than a small town in the Bible belt.

A word of warning, pick a side. Because in the real world, that is the world outside of school, you will be eaten alive. I have many straight friends who would go through someone for a short cut if they acted homophobic, because they have gay friends. Outside of the school environment people are very accepting, and people who are not are very suddenly in the minority.

So I don't know if this whole "bag on someone for a bit" is just a show, but when it comes to the adult world there is very little tolerance for "shows". So my advice pick a side and stick to it.
