I ordered some salvia from a website and it was delivered today. My parents found it in the mail and I think they are going to question me about it because my name was on the receiver's thing. I am in trouble a little bit right now and I don't want to get in more trouble. What can I tell them it is to possibly avoid trouble or get in less trouble?

well, the best suggestion I could give would be to come out with it, honesty is the number one thing, you have to take responsibility with your actions and maybe if youre lucky they wont be so mad

Salvia is not spit. Saliva is. Salvia is a type of psychoactive herb.

Lol, dude, you ordered a psychoactive herb off the internet, and you didn't think your parents just MIGHT question it?
Well, aside from the point that you should be honest with them, because they're your parents and love you....
....openning another person's mail is a federal offence....

You dug yourself into this hole and you have to get out of it yourself. You shouldn't have bought a drug, legal or not, without your parents knowing about it so really my only advice is that it's time to face the music.

Only if they're caught. And when its a minor and the legal guardian opening it, kinda says its okay. just saying...

Honestly, he asked for something to tell them so he DOESN'T get in trouble, don't tell him to just come clean with it.
Salvia is sold as "incense". Tell them that.

Good idea, unless the parents try to use it as incense, discover it smells horrible, and end up tripping massively.

How about telling them the truth that it's legal, and you've researched all possible side effects.
I can't see my parents trying to be angry at me over something that's legal, has no bad effects and only lasts short-term.
unfortunately for me Australia was the first country in the world to criminalize salvia, meaning they would get angry. very angry.

Psychoactive herbs by mail? Hmmmmm.....am I the only one who thinks this is fishy? And you were going to put them in that body of yours?
Yeah, I agree with the other sensible responses here, you should just tell them the truth, and hope that they do something to help you show better judgement in the future.

I fail to see the problem with using such a substance. You may call it bad judgement, but that doesen't make it so. Salvia is an experience. If you aren't up for it thats cool, but there's definatly nothing wrong with it.

Whether or not this is wrong isn't the issue; the issue here is whether or not the parents think it's wrong.
If you're already in trouble, then I can only assume your parents don't approve. If they don't approve then it's difficult to think of any way you could get yourself out of trouble that isn't likely to backfire and get you into deeper trouble. So the best thing to do is to avoid getting into any more trouble than you already are with the standard "agree with everything they say/keep out of trouble" strategy until this all blows over. And if you ever order something through the mail that your parents don't approve of again, try and be more clever about it.

yes i definatly agree with him coming clean and explaining to his parents what it is, and why he bought it. His parents are most likely uneducated about salvia and maybe him explaining to them what it is and its legal status may help him out.

Salvia is legal in many countries around the world, including Canada and the U.K., and to the best of my knowledge, the U.S. The only country I KNOW it's illegal in is Australia.
That being said, it's still not a good idea to do, but there are a lot of websites who will sell it to you and ship it right to your door.

you shouldn't have to tell them anything. for one, salvia divinorum is 101% legal. two, you're 16 years old apparently (from what your age says), you're of the age where personal privacy is essential. last but not least:
....opening another person's mail is a federal offence....

Tell them it's salvia, and you can eat it and it makes you feel happy ou wanted to see what getting high was like but didn't want to try smoking or doing drugs. and they'll give you a talk about how they used to trip on acid and take 'ludes and how their friends died or some shit, no biggy, but salvia, it's kind of intense, i wouldn't recomend it for anyone who isn't used to getting high on weed already
