Don't worry about what your mum thinks, you should start shaving when you feel you're ready. Shaving itself isn't really a big deal, it's what it signifies - you're growing up, becoming a man if you will.
Tell her you don't want to shave yet if you don't, it doesn't really matter anyway until you start growing think hair.
In response to your second query, if you shave properly it shouldn't affect your skin at all. The first few times your skin might become irritated and sting for a bit, but that usually goes away pretty fast.
Seeing as you have pimples it would be a good idea to get another guy to show you how to shave, because cutting the head off a pimple with a sharp razor isn't anyone's idea of fun.
Hope I could help!

Yeah parents, mainly mums, do do this. And if you have some pimples on your skin, it may be best to use an electronic shaver rather than doing a wet shave. I say this because i have lots of spots, and i shave using an electronic one, and it doesn't effect them. So that may be the best option.

i have quite a few spots so i find it more comfortable to use an electric shaver. you can use them anywhere and they cannot cut you no matter what you do.

1. well my parents will likely start doing this once i start to shave. they make a big fuss over leg hair. and bigger fuss over the few armpit hairs i have.
2. don't shave against the follicles. shave with them. and don't apply too much pressure, as you may hit a pimple and cut it.

Who cares what your mom thinks, it is your body.. My parents don't fuss about it, or anything.

My mum, started going off about me shaving too, but I didn't really listen to her, it's my body after all. Shaving hasn't affected my skin at all.

Question 1) Many parents make a fuss about their kids shaving as it is an outward sign that their boy is turning into a man. As much as your shaving is a big event for you it is also a big event for the parents as they start to feel old in light of your getting mature. Parents might actually feel scared as the thought of your becoming a man might make them feel like they are no longer needed. However, almost all parents quickly get used to their kid shaving, and it does not become a big deal anymore. As much as your parents need to reassure you and help you when you start shaving you need to be there for them and let them know that you are still their kid and love them despite your getting bigger and more mature.
Question 2) Shaving does not really hurt your skin at all, and as long as you use a good quality rasor, good quality shaving cream/gel, and a nice aftershave, then things will be fine for you.
