Something that I wrote back when I was 14.
Thought I'd revive it.
Something's In The Way
Underneath the cold night sky
Her mind is numb,
Her heart is bleeding,
Her body is bent, not yet broken.
Often times she had wondered about the reason
That she had opened up her mind for treason.
Often times she had wondered about how
She could fall for that ever so fake love vow.
Often times she had wondered about why
She ran that blade across her skin when things were awry.
Her mind has collapsed in ruins,
Her heart has been bled dry,
Her body wants to die,
Yet something's in the way.

Good poem, Steph! Did you write more? You should post some, I'd like to read them.

There's more.
Writing was somewhat of a therapy for me back then,
But I only kept the best ones in a journal,
And the rest got trashed.
I'll post them gradually :P

That Place So High
Say goodbye,
Say goodbye to that place so high,
That place where ecstasy meets misery,
That place where fantasy meets reality,
That place where dreams meet nightmares,
That place where lies meet the truth.
Say goodbye to that place so high,
That place of sweet serenity,
That place of hectic hell,
That place I call my only escape.
Say goodbye to that place so high,
That place ruled by insanity,
That place where logic is no more.
Say goodbye to that place so high,
That place I am banned from ever returning.
Say goodbye,
Say goodbye to that place so high.
This one dates back to.... summer of 2006 I believe.

Throw My Dreams Away
Im feeling wrong in the back of my mind.
Forgotten but not gone,
This world has stabbed me in the back,
So I lie here raped of my happiness,
Forcing a smile to make it through.
Often I wonder where my dreams go,
When I grow cold and all alone.
Im drowning in my forlorn thoughts.
Feeling abandoned by what matters the most,
Im killing myself from the inside out.
You say youre still here for me,
But I can still feel you slowly fading away.
So throw my dreams away,
Because when I open my eyes,
Theyre nothing but a sweet fantasy.
Now keep my close, hold me tight,
Like the ocean hugs the shore,
Because without my dreams I am weak,
And youre all that I have left.
Just stay a while longer,
And be my dream come true.
Just stay a while longer,
And Ill be myself someday.

My mind is so far away,
So far away.
No one is around,
It's a bright and sunny day,
So far away.
I'll be alright,
So far away.
Just me and the gentle breeze,
The sound of the lapping waves,
So far away.
My mind is so far away,
Take me to that place,
So far away.
I'll be alright someday,
So far away.

Finally after near two years, I've written something that I'm content with.
Supernova
I named a star after you,
Hung my hopes on it,
And tried to pursue.
Now I’m stranded on the dark side of the moon,
And I’m looking right at you.
You had done the impossible,
Opened my heart. Gained my trust.
Saw the side of me that nobody ever saw before.
And now I can’t even figure out
If it was ever love or if it’s just lust.
You’re a supernova,
Putting a black hole in my heart.
What happened to the person I knew?
Once you warmed me like the sun,
And now you go absolute zero.
If I died in your arms,
Would you even care?
All I ever did was try to love you,
And now you shove it back in my face.
I’m not sure which one of us is the disgrace.
I’ve been treated like dirt before,
But I still miss the way you feel,
Back when you made my head soar,
Back when you made my heart reel.
I guess that it’s time to say goodbye.
It’s time to grab onto a shooting star,
And wander into the mysterious universe,
Time to find my own true colors amongst the aurora,
Explore different galaxies,
And escape your eclipse.
