It is alright to have a look. You are just curious.
Not sure about the swimming thing though. I doubt your period would stop because you are swimming though.

Everyone has a sneaky look, most of the time they probably wont realise. So, of course, it's fine and very natural to want to compare your body with others - but everyone is different, so don't be concerned about looking different in any way.

I think you may have misheard your mother... If you're having your period and you go swimming, using tampons is the only sanitary thing to do.
However, some people say that the extra bit of material (around the crotch) in swiming suits are to hold pads, but it's to prevent the suit turning see-through.
If you don't want to use a tampon, you shouldn't go swimming. If it's a compulsary thing (school or lessons etc) ask your mum for a note to excuse you. Otherwise, you should start thinking about wearing tampons.

I hope that's helped :)

It's just like guys looking at other guys in the locker room u want to be informed about others and ur mind wants you to think if their body looks better like breast sizes you mite want to look like that but its normal and will only last untill u dont car what ppl think of u.

And depend if its in a pool or lake or ocean cuz a pool should be fine just as long as ur careful.

With wanting to have a look is a completley normal thing and about the swimming thing my girl friend never told me anything about that she's on the swim team
