dell should die
they have low prices becuase they use low quality parts
redcar
November 19th, 2005, 08:26 PM
no becuase they buy in bulk and sell directly to the consumer cutting out the middle man hence lower prices.

plus low quality parts

November 19th, 2005, 08:27 PM

good quality stuff = good quality overclock
dell doesnt even allow you to overclock

Skhorpion
November 19th, 2005, 09:04 PM
most of the world complains their computer is slow
if the world knew how to properly overclock... and dell allowed you to then there would be less people complaining

November 19th, 2005, 09:33 PM
dude, nothing is wrong with dell, they don't have low quality parts, they are manufactured just like all the other computers out there. don't hold a grudge just becuase other people do, ugh, its like 'poser' aleart. be your own rainbow, dell is not bad at all, the are a computer company, if you don't like em, then don't buy em'

why are you so argumentitve and dismissing everyones opinion immediatley. the whole idea of a debate is to allow otheres to express their opinions and then u can argue the, u just keep shooting them immediatly with:
dell should die
you wasted your own time nobody made you come to this thread
if you want a debate you will have to learn to debate properly yourself.

I like Dell
They've proven themselves
They have a few of them where my dad works (lil over 2,000 dell desktops) and they work great
dont get me wrong a voodoo or alienware system kicks dells ass
but for us common folk dells great it works well and its affordable

Jeeeesus when will you lot ever stop the dell arguements, Kid and muckingfuppet you really do need to learn to debate or not bother coming to this forum.
All you do is say that it is 'shit' or w/e and then just immediately dismiss everyone elses opinion.
Well fuck you we are intitled to them.
Dell are OK, I have a dell, I have had it for about a year now. Mostly it has been great, however I have had some problems recently, not really sure what to make of them now.

at the computer shop i go to every summer, we get a lot of dells, about half of it is from hardware problems
another reason i dont like dell is the way you have to open them, some you have to practicaly use all your weight on this little lever while pulling back really hard while others open like a book, taking up a lot of space
last reason is their weight, i had to carry around a lot of barebone dimension 8400's last summer and they are considerably heavier than your average computer
redcar
November 20th, 2005, 01:56 PM
now you cannot hate a computer because you found it hard to open it or its weight, you need to come up with a better arguement than that.

maybe theyre bigger?

my computer is a full tower while a fully built dimension 8400 weighs about the same as mine
Ravenous
November 20th, 2005, 02:03 PM
My Dell is a Dimension 8400. I admit the book opening puzzled me slightly. However the weight doesn't bother me as I dont really move mine very much, when I say not very much I mean more like I havn't done since I got it.

another thing i dont like is dells "screwless" design
screwless designs are supposed to be able to alide ANY drive in and out no problem but dell requires you to attach rails, using screws, to the drive before it will slide in

my computer is a full tower while a fully built dimension 8400 weighs about the same as mine
thats because they pack the same amount of power into a smaller, more efficient case. damn theyre innovative :)
Skhorpion
November 20th, 2005, 02:23 PM
same power of what?
Englishkid
November 26th, 2005, 06:26 AM
actually its totally pointless to buy these dells they seem cheap but any computer you buy ready made is gonna be over priced while buying all the parts and making one gives a you a great computer for cheap

I have a gateway and its been great. Its almost 4 years old now and still going strong. Just as fast as the day I got it.
Dell makes a good computer too. I'm not an expert but I think dell is a good computer too.

They're assembly isn't always that great.
My laptop from them's alright, but a friend of mine bought one of the new Dimension towers and they supplied it with a memory module jammed in the wrong slot upside-down.
You can't say they're always good quality.

yes i do because that is clearly a manufacturing error and doesnt have anyything to do with them as computer makers, cause i am sure every computer company in the world has made errors like this.
December 7th, 2005, 05:48 PM
i dont think there is a manufacturing error with dell

December 7th, 2005, 05:49 PM
It has everything to do with them as a computer maker.
They make and put together their own equipment, thus if there is a quality problem it falls on their sholders.
