There is a girl at school I wanna ask out, but I don't think she'll say yes because I'm overweight. I've tried to lose weight and I eat healthy, but nothing ever works out. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Exercise. The only way to get rid of weight (apart from liposuction) is exercise.
Lots of it. But on the asking out thing, just go for it. If she won't go out with you just because your overweight, that's a bit shallow. Do you want to do out with a girl like that?
Anyway good luck with the girl and more importantly the losing weight.

I agree with Requin
The best way is exercise
Get outside, and do stuff
Join a sports team
Start something active.

Also, if the girl likes you, she shouldn't care about your weight ;)

I guess you're right. Any good exercise recommendations for someone with asthma?

Ummmmm. Well. Ummmmmm
Hang on.....
Do it in short doses then. As long as you are doing exercise then it's a start. You don't have to run a marathon to lose weight you know. There's loads of websites and stuff for this: Google them and here's one www.coolnurse.com

Like everyone else in this forum, I also agree very much so with Requin :)

I'm not trying to sound patronising or anything but how overweight are you exactly? Like EXTREMELY obese overweight or just slightly chubby overweight? But either way if you have so much in common and you get on really well with each other then she'll want to go out with you for your personality, NOT your looks. Why the hell would you wanna date a girl who's just totally superficial?! I hate people like that :|

But if you want to gain some confidence then go ahead and try to lose some weight the healthy way.
Good luck :)

I could give you the whole "she should like you for who you are" speech, but in reality looks matter. For the most part being overweight is seen as unattractive, in this superficial society. Now I don't know how overweight you really are so its hard to say, but for your health sake, and overall happiness, I would suggest to eat healthy, and do alot of excercising.

I don't mind girls to have a little meat on them, but i would never date a girl I wasen't physically attracted to. I'm sure it goes the same with girls. Girls also like guys to have confidence, something that you would have alot more of, if you got yourself in good shape. (not being rude, just trying to help)

Well, I'm 15 and between 170-180 lbs. It has been a while since I've weighed myself. Thanks for all the encouragement.

well height, and body fat % are alot more important then just your weight. I weigh just under 200 pounds but I'm lean.

how tall are you?

If you want to loose weight, then you need to exersize

If you're conserned over an extra 10-15 pounds, i woudn't be too worried
it doesn't bug me. not all girls are overly shallow

serial thrilla makes a good point, if you're muscular [from what you've said you aren't?], or taller than 5'7-ish you don't have a problem

I'm 5'4'' and no I'm not really muscular.

alright, yeah that's not exactly healthy

But still, i say go for it.

Maybe she likes you.

BUT, a commen mistake, oftentimes boys make, is that they push too hard. if she says no, don't keep pressing.

Well to lose weight you have to do more than just exercise. It is a whole life style change. First you have to change what you eat and how much you eat.

It is important not to quit eating then it will cause your body to store any food that is eaten to be stored as fat. You need to eat good food and a variety of foods. It is also better to eat smaller meals through out the day and not just a couple of big meals.

Also to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you take into your body. Drinking lots of water also helps move the food through the intestines quicker so it just doesn't sit there and be absorbed.

Exercising is very important but you need to change what you eat and when you eat. You should never eat before you go to bed. You should wait at least 2 to 3 hours after eating to go to sleep.

I hope this information helps you

I do eat healthy. My family eats organic and all natural foods. We don't eat pork or beef and try not to mix dairy with fruit or fruit with meat and we try not to mix dairy with meat as well. Over all what I eat is decent food, I just eat too much of it. For exercise I usually don't have time because of all the school work I have or I'm too exhausted at the end of the day. I probably shouldn't even bother with trying to ask her out because nothing good will come of it probably.

I'm overweight and I have exercise-induced asthma. It's been hard to exercise because if I'm put myself just a little bit too hard then I can't breathe. But here's some tips:

1. Weightlifting, yoga, and other exercises that place more emphasis on strength and flexibility don't require you to breathe as hard and are much less likely to cause problems with asthma. They also help you gain an overall better shape - but they aren't the best things for losing body fat.
2. Try simply walking. Don't jog or run, just walk. If walking hard triggers your asthma, walk slower. Go for distance, not speed. It will take a long time and you'll need to walk a long distance to equal a jogging workout, but you will be able to do it. If your asthma tends to be triggered outside find an indoor track or vice versa. Eventually you should be able to gradually go faster without triggering your asthma as your body adjusts. This is the type of exercise that's the best for losing fat.
3. Drink lots of water before, during, and after exercising - dehydration doesn't help your breathing in the slightest.
4. Lack of time is no excuse to not exercise. If you can manage to set aside even ten minutes a day you'll see improvement - fifteen, twenty, or thirty is better. This should be a priority - you'll look, feel, and be better.
5. Consistant exercise gradually makes your everyday life easier for you, so lack of energy is no excuse because your body will increase your overall level of energy as it adapts to the exercise. It also directly cures mental fatigue, stress, and depression by giving you lots of endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people are more confident around girls and are more likely to convince girls to go out with them.

wow i havent posted anything in a really long time... good to be back lol

but anyway, I had the exact same problem. I weighed over 200 pounds two years ago, so i know how difficult it is. and i know a lot of people are saying "just lose the weight," but its not that easy. if you want some advice from someone who lost 50 pounds though, lift weights. i started lifting weights a few years ago and it made a huge difference. while you will gain weight from it at first because you are putting on muscle, building muscle speeds your metabolism a lot, which in turn helps you burn fat. if you are going to lift weights though, make sure you know what you are doing because weights can be dangerous if you dont use them right.

seriously though, you will lose weight. i guarantee it. message me if you have anymore questions, i went through the exact same thing...
