My rep power went from 22 to 23 and...

I did not hit 3000 posts yet

I did not hit another time marker

I did not gain any more points since 22


Now, I'M not complaining :D
Just curious ;)

Well, when I hit 6 months of being on VT my rep didn't update for a month... and then I suddenly got it.

Maybe that's what happened here?

I think the rep system updates with the database on a basis that is not like everyday. More like every 2 weeks or a month. Especially for the length of membership and post count catagories.

Well, posy count rep is always instantaneous for me. Absolutely no delay,and if there is it's about a second...

So it's eiher that something went funny for me or it's only the join fate rep that takes a while/

You receive a point of rep power every 200 days so that's probably it.

Although I said that it was every 6 months, the time marker was actually roughly 6 months, not six months exactly. So that may explain it from my end.

I never knew about the 200 days thing.

I'm pretty sure I hit that mark today, I mean yesterday I had 14 rep power now I have 15.

i've always been so confused about how you gain rep.

It's not really that confusing. You're here for 200 days, you get 1 more rep power. You get any incriment of 50 rep points, you get more 1 rep power. so at 100 rep points, you get 1 more rep power point, and at 150, 200, etc.
How do you gain rep points? Somebody adds to you. You get rep points equal to their rep power, so if I repped you (and I will do it hard) then you would get 31 rep points.
Is that a new (ish) rule?Not really.
