i got another ear piercing and it is so swolen
what should i do

Offer advice or gtfo.

Hydrogen peroxide is a disinfectant.

Clean it with that or isopropyl alcohol for a few days. If it gets worse then yeah, doctor.

If going to your doctor is not something you wish to do (which is not a really good idea in light of your problem), then I suppose you can get some guidance from the place that did your piercing. However, swelling is never a good sign, and you definitely should seek medical attention before the infection gets worse. While the unfortunate result of going to the doctor is the loss of your ear ring the fact remains that your health is paramount.

And if you have to lose your earring you could always go back and get it redone after the infection has healed (if you still want it after all that).

Alright, i'm not disregarding what people have said compleatly...


...but i don't think it's too serious.

If it's just been peirced [as in in the past week], it's gonna be a little swolen, you got a chunk of metal injected in your ear!!

If not, yeah it's probably a little irritated. nothing major, just clean it and you'll be fine.

If it's actually.. like.. getting that weird crusty stuff [it's puss. ick i know], make sure you clean it off with something like isopropyl alcohol [not the cleaning stuff you get when it's done, it's not much more than water, and some peroxide [yes a disinfectant, but not a good one]

Mine have gotten infected two or three times [not the same hole each time though], never seen a doctor for it. It's not a huge deal*


*please note, if it's like bleeding more than the tinest bit, and is painful, then yes you should see a doctor

ind there is dried up blood every time i take the earing out or go to clean it
and it is so swollen

1. why are you taking them out so early? Leave your earrings in!!

2. yeah, that's infected. how long has it been?

yes it is painful
it has been infected for about 2 weeks

Oh dear, well that's not good.

Maybe you do need to see somebody. I've never had it infected for more than a week, and usually it doesn't hurt too much.

That's kinda icky. From your origonal post, it didn't sound too bad. Just that annoying kind.

ok well i went to the doctors (my mom forced me)
she said to put anti-septic on it then get my ear pierced agen in 4 weeks (if i still want to)

i'd wait a little longer than 4 weeks. you want it to be totally healed before you re-peirce it


doctors tend to give very bad info on such matters. *knows from experiance*
