Every town around me, not even, every town on the island thinks that my town is like the ghetto with a whole bunch a gangs, shootings, and all that bad stuff. Granted that we do have a few gangs, there were some shootings, but what big town doesn't have that stuff. Whenever I go play other school for a sport, they act as if my school is one in the inner city. I always deny it, and say its not a bad school, but school days like today in my school is what they hear about. In school today, there were like 3 fights in the school, ending in a student getting stabbed and a few teachers and other students getting sent to the hospital. With all of that, there were tons of police cars around the school the whole day and by 6th period, we were in lock down resulting in school ending early. By 5 o'clock, it showed up on the news. Its so dumb because they only report the bad stuff happening in my town like a drive-by, murder, this thing, but they never mention that we have the states best marching band, the best soccer team, and that the research class got a 10,000 grant from MIT to do an inventeam project. Does anyone else's school have a bad rep when actually it isn't that bad?

The high school I went to for 9th grade has a horrible rep. The school has a great Football team, and one of the other "bad" schools in my area were State Champions.
They also have a pretty good Tennis team and a whole bunch of great kids that I enjoyed being around. The problem there is the school is located right in the middle of the poorest part of town and there are a couple gangs that ruin the school's rep. Those gangs are the reason I don't go to that school anymore. My dad is just too paranoid to allow us to continue to go there.

My old school had a really good rep, but it was actually quite bad. We had fights all the time, and bad things happened alot, but because it was a high priced private school, teachers usually turned a blind eye so that parents would'nt find out that the school their children go to isn't very good.

There is a neighboring school that has this terrible reputation for being arrogant and ignorant. There were 6 hate crime cases there last year. But, I know some people there that are fine. So, its just, you go there, you get put in a group with them.

Yup, mine's considered one of the worst schools in Sydney apparently, which is why we have a shortage of teachers at the moment. We don't really get stabbings or anything but fights are pretty common and apparently they discourage new teachers from coming to teach here.
The only times we've been on the news was a massive food fight on a bus which was pretty funny actually, and when kids tried to push over a bus when it didn't let them on.
