But generally, if you masturbate then you won't really have wet dreams. People usually get wet dreams because your body "gets rid" of some through a nocturnal emission (wet dream) so that it can continue to create semen .

I agree with the others that if you masturbate, then you don't have semen stored up in order for a wet dream to happen. In most cases if you don't masturbate for a while (a while can really vary by person with it being days for some or weeks for others) then your semen resevoir will reach its fill thus needing release through a wet dream.

I also concur with the others that a "wet dream" is not necessary to show that you are sexually mature. As long as you can produce semen by masturbating, then you are sexually mature. If you cannot cum, yet, then you are still young and have plenty of time to develop that ability. After all, there are guys as late as 16/17 who don't start ejaculating.

Finally, wet dreams are somewhat overrated in the sense that you are not conscious during such an orgasm unlike masturbating where you get the full effect of it as you are awake when it happens.

I disagree with this!! Masturbating wont make avoid having wet dreams because you run low of sperm while you masturbate. THIS IS TOTALY INCORECT!! A man reproduces more than one million sperms a day, if you could fill a spoon with sperm you would have about three million there, consider your self a millionare of sperm. (just dont go to the bank and try to deposit sperm to get money) If you masturbate you will loose sperm eventaully but you will NOT run low! This means you can actually have wet dreams if masturbate!:eek:

well if you masturbate often that could be the cause because a wet dream is a way for your body to get rid of extra sperm. i got wet dreams but when i started masturbating every couple days it just stopped happening
