I just found out that one of my brother's friends died of an overdose on heroin. He was 21. This is a surprise to everyone because he'd been addicted to heroin before and was doing very well in his efforts to quit. It's speculation at this point, but they think what happened was that he didn't realize that while he was still using heroin regularly he'd built up a tolerance for it and was using a very high dose. Since he hadn't taken it for so long his tolerance had gone down to a more normal level, but he used the same amount that he'd used before and it was too much for his body to handle. They don't think it was suicide because everyone that knew him has been saying that he was doing so much better than he was before - things were really looking up for him. I didn't know him very well (I met him, briefly, just a few times) but I wanted to share this anyway. R.I.P. Trevor
