Personally, I love Avant browser as I'm so very used to it. However I don't like the fact that it uses trident (Internet Explorer) to render webpages.
So today I've installed a browser called Orca browser, and it's simply Avant browser that uses gecko, the firefox rendering engine. So if you like avant browser, you get all the fantastic features from that, with the added security and speed of the firefox rendering engine.
Orca is still in Beta stages at the moment, but I've just installed it and it worked perfectly fine.
Find out more here: http://www.orcabrowser.com/
Even if you are a firefox lover you should give it a try, Orca adds a huge amount of funtionality to the browser.

There doesn't seem to be one for Linux... a large setback for me as, I use Linux except for Flash programming.
It sounds interesting though, and I'll try it out just for kicks sometime.

Avant browser was never released for linux, so I doubt Orca will either unless it becomes popular enough. Although Avant browser relied on having Internet Explorer, Orca of couse, does not. So there just might be a linux or mac os version one day.

Yeah, if Chrome wasn't around, I might have tried this. Still looks cool, though.

Eh, I personally like Avant Browser because it uses Internet Explorer's engine. That means it has more functionality, including the use of ActiveX, BHO's, and then the Avant Browser extensions, of course. There's a lot of hype about Internet Explorer being soooo insecure because of ActiveX, but there's a lot more good than bad out there, and if people actually figure out how to configure their clients, it's no less secure than other browsers.
Anyway, I've seen Ocra, but I still look to Avant Browser first. Actually, lately I've been using Google Chrome, so I suppose Avant Browser has been pushed down to second for the time being.

Every time I try another browser, I always end up back at Firefox.
Avant, Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari, Etc., doesn't matter.
I've voiced my reasons why I dislike Avant in the past, so I'm not getting into that again. Just a small thing, though, about browsers that use the Trident Rendering Engine (IE's Engine). IE has always been about going against web standards. You code a webpage, and a good portion of the time, you have to code your site for BOTH IE and other browsers because others follow standards, IE doesn't.
Supposedly MS is stepping up their compliance with the standards in version 8, but that remains to be seen.
Browser helper objects have caused many issues for me. I'm always having to disable them because they aren't stable enough to use. I haven't had that big of an issue with extensions for FF in that reguard.
And, although ActiveX can be good at times, I still dislike it in general, because it's an IE only thing, where many websites have incorporated that requirement into their website, and no other browser can correctly display their webpage. It's just an annoyance that isn't needed.
Chrome uses the same basic engine as Safari, which is Webkit.
Talking about Chrome for a second, it hasn't impressed me in the least bit, minus the slight increase in browsing speed and Javascript rendering.
FF 3.1 is supposed to be faster than Chrome is, though, so I look forward to that.
I just tried the Ocra Browser, and the only thing I like better about it than Avant is that it uses Gekco. But, that's where it ends. There were still a lot of things I disliked about the browser that had nothing to do with the engine it used.
I don't see a reason to not just use Firefox instead of this. It's just FF with a few addons and a theme. Any of the functionality of it that I don't currently have, I don't need. And, if I did, I could probably fairly easily add it.
I understand that this is still a Beta, so I won't complain about the fact that it locked up on the splash screen the frist time I launched it, and I had to restart it. :P

I use FF but I admire Chrome's javascript speed.
Yes that's IE 6, but it's still ridiculous.
