I need a mobo that supports dual quad core xeon procs. LGA 771 preferred.

Must support RAID 0. ATX, EEB, or CEB form factor.

I have a friend that stuck that in his rig. He loves it, and hasn't had any problems with it. Although it is a tad expensive. :p

Why bother? Just wait for Nehalem.

Sorry guys.

Forgot to mention I need server hardware.

Intel Skulltrail isn't for servers.

Once again, is there any urgent reason to purchase this hardware?

If you must have it immediately, just try perusing http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010200302%201071321504&name=Dual%20LGA%20771

Intel boards are pretty reliable and hassle-free from my experience.

There's no rush to buying it. I'm just trying to plan out a good server. Thought maybe someone on here might have experience with server hardware and could offer some insight.

So far I'm leaning toward the SuperMicro X7DWE board.

There's no point in purchasing hardware now. Intel is releasing a more advanced architecture this year that will supposedly be a dramatic improvement. Think eight cores one one die, integrated memory controller, reintroduction of hyperthreading as SMT, etc. If you can wait six months you'll probably be able to get your hands on it at a reasonable price. Even if it's still expensive the current generation processors will drop in price as Intel's new architecture pushes it out of the high-end.

Well, I can't vouch for their motherboards, but MSI does make phenomenal graphics cards.

Why do you necro every thread? Necro with something important/interesting is one thing, but to tell me you bought a motherboard and didn't like it is completely useless.
