Hi. i dont know if this is an eating disorder. when i am sad i eat. when i am happy... i eat. Most of all when i am bored i eat.

Well it depends on how much you eat. If it's a lot then it's called binge eating and it's unhealthy I suggest you try and do other things to keep you from eating so much.

i have the same problem only i eat when im sad and angry, when im happy i don't usually eat unless it is dinner or something.

Like Shiver said, it depends on how much you eat. Everyone eats when they're tired, sad, and happy. Do you eat a lot? Do you eat to little?

Well I would say that you don't have one. I think you need to try to do other things than eat. When you are sad eating chocolate is supposed to make you happy but use moderation like one candy bar or even a snack sized.

If you are going to eat then eat healthy things like fruits and vegetables. Popcorn is a good snack just don't put any butter on it.

Also try drinking large quantities of water to help feel you up and that way you don't eat or feel like eating all the time.

You may have what I have: compulsive overeating. That's where you essentially get in the habit of eating as a way to comfort yourself when you're stressed, sad, etc. until you have a hard time not eating whenever you're upset no matter how full you are. It is an eating disorder, though not as well known.

It depends on how you're defining "disorder". Eating for reasons other than hunger doesn't necessarily mean it's the result of a 'disorder'. I think for it to become a real disorder (very generally speaking) it has to interfere with your life in some substantial way.

Well, I mean, that is fairly common. Some people, when stressed or mad, smoke. Some drink. Some cry. Some cope... Some may overeat.

it sounds to me like your an emotional eater, this can be a bad thing if you over eat a lot when you are feeling bad, good or whatever.

When I'm stressed, I sometimes go and find something to do to occupy myself, such as drawing, reading, listening to music, watching a movie, TV, writing etc. But to be honest, most of the time I resort to self-harming which I don't think you should ever get into!
Or I have a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea. Hot drinks are good stress relievers :)
