I have just recently become interested in anime (seeing small amounts off of tv) and was looking to see what shows I should go out and buy from the 1st season and watch all the way through.
I just wanted to know what I should go with, considering I don't know much about any of the different anime shows?
One of my friends said Bleach, and Full Metal Alchemist were good, but I don't really know what would keep me engaged all the way through?
Sorry, I don't really know how to explain..
Could you list some good anime shows that are available on dvd boxset perhaps? And give a short description on the ones you recommend??

Thanks heaps in advance!

Yeah like really depends

The super popular ones like Bleach & Shippuuden are just full of endless fillers.. And once you get into it ( and you most likely will if you liked anime to begin with ) at the first good 50-100 episodes you'll get into a world of endless fillers covering up a storyline going on for 100 or 200 episodes or even more.. And then when you get to the end you'll be so sick of it ( if you didn't before ) that you wont bother waiting for the weekly releases

But it all really depends on what kind of stuff you like; action, comedy, mystery, sci fi etc etc etc etc

You can watch Bleach, Naruto if you want but you can also try stuff like Ergo Proxy, Monster, Elfen Lied etc or some of the older ones like Trigun & Cowboy Bepop

But yah and don't buy stuff when its all online and free
