Okay, the title may be a bit misleading but here is my dillema.

This is my first year in High school taking official college classes. I am in four of them: AP Chemistry, AP US History, AP Environmental Science, and AP English III. Now I am normally awesome at math and science, but I just was working on some chemistry homework/studying for the test tomorrow and I got confused. and after I get confused I skip trying to work the next problem, and I can't! I can't remember anything! I just go blank! Even if i switch to another type of problem.

Example:

I was doing oxidation/reduction reactions and got through 20 of 30 easily, then they got really difficult (and it doesn't help that although we have spent 2 weeks on them we are still not 100% sure how to do them, even the teacher). So I switched to double replacement, for htose of you who have taken chemistry know that that should have been easy right? I COULDN'T REMEMBER HOW TO DO THEM!!! And I have a test tomorrow! And I have a 100 in the class, and I need to keep that average, this is after 2 tests already. I can't lose this 100! It is what I need to boost my GPA to get me into the colleges I want! I am going to go to my teacher tomorrow and explain my dillema and get her ot help me in the morning before the test, but I can't study right now, and I still have about 25 homework problems that I can't do because I can't remember anything!

I am so stressed out; i don't want ot lose my 100 in the class, I can't remember how to do anything BUT those damn redox and I am just so confused.

Is this like a learning disability or something? I need help . . . please!

I am fucking crying over this! What is wrong with me?!

Take a deep breath here, Travis. You're Ok.

If you're smart enough to be taking all these AP's, have a 100 average, then you're smart enough to know all the answers. They're up there. You just donlt see that, you cannot get them out for whatever reason. But there's a diff b'twn not knowing something and having a retrival problem.

I'd recommend quitting for the nite, either get to sleep early, or relax until then. And get up early tomorrow AM and try again. You might be too burned out to access the info up there, and forcing it won't get it out.

Thanks, exactly what I was thinking but you reinsured that it may work, listening to some music to calm down right now.

I was also thinking that maybe when I got my test I should do everything other than the redox first because those always confuse me up with the other ones <(horrible grammar).

Thanks Sam, I have an alarm set for 4:45 tomorrow morning, and luckily my teacher understands, I go into her room for help quite often. It doesn't help that I had to prove to her that in the redox we have to use coefficients, so that helped me do them easier, but then she said that they wouldn't be graded like that on the test.

I think I am just burnt out, my mom made me stop doing it because she wanted the light off to watch a tv show then I was stressed to get them all finished. . . so I think maybe if I just wait and get refreshed till tomorrow like you suggested it will come back to me. Which makes sense because if it won't come back to me then how did it to do those first few problems?

Lol, if anyone has taken AP Chemistry and cares to post tips on:
Redox, single replacement, double replacement, and combustion feel free too!

Thanks Sam, total +rep for you, though IDK how much it will do since my rep power is so low.

It won't let me give you anymore rep at the current time :(
